1. Our marketplace

next:chapter is a community for giving preloved fashion another life.

To keep the experience safe, enjoyable and trustworthy, all sellers must follow these listing rules.

These rules form part of our Terms & Conditions.

2. What you can sell

Subject to these rules, private individuals may list:

• Women's clothing
• Men's clothing
• Children's and babies' clothing
• Shoes and trainers
• Bags and fashion accessories
• Other fashion items within categories expressly supported by the Platform

Items may be preloved or unworn, provided their condition is accurately described.

All items must be clean, safe, lawful to sell and suitable for their intended use.

3. Prohibited items

The following items are not permitted:

Counterfeit goods: Fake designer products, replicas, unauthorised copies and items that infringe intellectual property rights.

Stolen goods: Items obtained unlawfully or that the seller has no right to sell.

Unsafe or recalled products: Items subject to a product recall, known to be dangerous or unsuitable for safe use.

Used intimate or hygiene-sensitive items: Used underwear, used swimwear bottoms and other items where resale would create an unacceptable hygiene concern. New items in these categories may be considered only if unused, hygienically sealed where appropriate and expressly permitted by the Platform.

Cosmetics and personal care products: Used or opened cosmetics, skincare, perfumes and similar products. These categories are excluded from the initial marketplace unless separately approved.

Medicines and medical products: Prescription medicines, restricted healthcare products and regulated medical devices.

Weapons and hazardous goods: Weapons, ammunition, explosives, hazardous chemicals and other dangerous or restricted items.

Illegal or restricted products: Any goods whose sale, possession, import or distribution would breach applicable UAE law.

Non-fashion goods: Electronics, furniture, food, alcohol, tobacco, vaping products and other categories not currently supported by next:chapter.

Animals or living organisms: Animals, plants and other living organisms.

We may remove items that present legal, safety, authenticity or reputational concerns even where they are not expressly listed above.

4. Authenticity

Sellers must list only authentic items.

Brand names must be used accurately.

Sellers must not describe a counterfeit item as a replica, inspired version or similar alternative in an attempt to bypass this rule.

We may request reasonable proof of authenticity for certain listings.

next:chapter does not currently provide a professional authentication service.

5. Accurate descriptions

Sellers must accurately describe:

• Brand
• Size and sizing system
• Colour
• Condition
• Material, where known
• Defects, stains or damage
• Alterations
• Missing parts or accessories
• Any other information material to a buyer's decision

Significant flaws must be disclosed even if they appear in photographs.

6. Photographs

Photographs must show the actual item being offered.

Images should be clear, recent and accurately represent the item's condition.

Sellers must not:

• Use misleading images
• Hide damage through editing
• Use photographs of another person's item without permission
• Use stock images as the sole representation of an item
• Include unrelated promotional material

Photographs must not expose private identification documents, addresses or other sensitive personal information.

7. Condition

Sellers must select the most accurate condition category available.

Items described as new or unworn must genuinely meet that description.

Items with visible wear must be described accordingly.

Items that are excessively damaged, unhygienic or unsafe may be rejected.

8. Pricing

Prices must be genuine and stated in AED.

Sellers must not use misleading prices, hidden charges or false promotional claims.

Listings must not be used to advertise unrelated products or services.

9. One listing per item

Each listing should represent one identifiable item unless the Platform expressly supports bundles.

Sellers must not publish duplicate listings for the same available item.

Once an item has sold, the seller must not continue offering it as available.

10. Delivery and collection information

Sellers must select the collection or delivery methods they are willing to offer.

Where self-collection is available, sellers should enter a general area rather than a full private address.

Exact arrangements should be agreed privately after a transaction is confirmed.

Sellers must not publish personal phone numbers, bank details or home addresses in listing descriptions or photographs.

11. Commercial selling

The initial marketplace is intended for private individuals.

Businesses, professional resellers and sellers operating commercially may not use the Platform for business sales without prior approval.

We may request clarification where an account appears to be operating commercially.

12. Prohibited behaviour

Members must not:

• Publish misleading or fraudulent listings
• Harass or threaten other users
• Manipulate transactions or reviews
• Request unnecessary personal information
• Use listings to redirect users to unrelated websites
• Advertise prohibited goods or services
• Circumvent safety or security controls
• Misuse another person's photographs or intellectual property

13. Enforcement

We may remove or restrict listings, request changes, suspend accounts or take other proportionate action where these rules are breached.

Serious suspected unlawful activity may be reported to the relevant authorities where appropriate.

14. Reporting a listing

15. Updates

We may update these rules as the marketplace develops, including when new categories are introduced.

Changes will be published on the website.
